RUMOR
Bloober Team’s remake of the original Silent Hill is targeting a 2027 release, according to a new MP1st report. The same report names two UK-based actresses it says are attached to the project. Neither Konami nor Bloober Team has confirmed any of it, so treat this as fog, not a map.
What we know
The remake is real. As GameSpot reported, Konami announced on June 12, 2025, during its Press Start showcase, that Bloober Team is remaking Silent Hill. Konami’s press release confirmed this is the 1999 original. The reveal was a short teaser and the words “in development.” No platforms, no date.
That announcement followed Bloober’s Silent Hill 2 remake, which launched on PS5 and PC in October 2024 to critical acclaim. Whatever you thought of Bloober before, that release is why fans are cautiously optimistic about a trip back to Harry Mason’s nightmare.
There is also a useful bit of official context on scheduling. Video Games Chronicle, citing a 2025 Famitsu interview, reports that series producer Motoi Okamoto said Konami aims to release a new Silent Hill title every year. VGC is careful to add that no game is confirmed for 2027. For reference, Silent Hill f was dated for September 25, 2025.
What is rumored
MP1st published its report on October 26, 2026. The outlet claims the remake is targeting 2027, assuming no delays or changes to Konami’s schedule. MP1st has not named a source for that date, and we could not verify its track record. VGC, Wccftech, Game Rant, Beebom and others picked up the story on October 27, but they are relaying MP1st, not independently confirming it.
The report gives the codename as “Project Noise.” Game Rant’s summary adds that the internal name is “Project G.” If you saw “Project Name” in Beebom’s write-up, that is a typo; every other outlet relaying MP1st uses “Project Noise.”
On casting, MP1st claims two UK-based actors, Gabrielle Fritz and Jade Matthew, are attached to the remake. Their roles are unknown. MP1st speculates they could play Cybil Bennett, Lisa Garland or Dahlia Gillespie, and outlets passing the story along disagree on which actor fits which role. No actor has been reported for Harry Mason.
MP1st also claims active development began in 2022. iXBT points to an earlier claim along the same lines from insider Dusk Golem. We could not verify Dusk Golem’s track record, so this one stays firmly unverified.
What we don’t know yet
Almost everything that matters. Konami has not announced a release date, a release window or a platform list. Neither Konami nor Bloober has confirmed a single cast member, and nobody has officially said who is playing Harry, Cybil, Lisa, Dahlia or anyone else in that cursed little town.
We also don’t know where MP1st’s information comes from, or how solid the 2027 target would be even if accurate. “Assuming no delays” is doing a lot of work in that sentence.
What it means
Be skeptical of headlines. Some coverage oversold this: Beebom said the report “confirms” two cast members, and one headline said release window “details leak.” VGC’s own headline says “report claims,” and its article notes the actors’ roles are unconfirmed. That framing is the right one. The underlying report hasn’t been disproven; it simply hasn’t been verified.
Is 2027 plausible? Okamoto’s comments about a yearly Silent Hill cadence make a slot for the remake easy to imagine. That’s a reasonable guess, not evidence. Konami aiming for annual releases tells us nothing specific about when this particular game ships.
For now, the confirmed picture is the same as it was in June 2025: Bloober is remaking the 1999 original, and that’s it. If Konami or Bloober start naming actors or putting a year on a trailer, MP1st will look very well informed. Until then, keep your flashlight on and your radio tuned for an official word.
