CONFIRMED
Behaviour Interactive’s official Dead by Daylight X account announced on October 23 that the Chucky Chapter and its associated content will be removed from in-game and first-party stores on November 24, 2026. A last-chance sale on the Chapter’s content starts on all platforms on Monday, October 26. If you already own the Good Guy, he stays in your roster.

What we know
The facts here are refreshingly clear. Behaviour’s official post says the Chucky Chapter leaves in-game and first-party stores on November 24, 2026. GameSpot, reporting on Behaviour’s announcement, puts the exact time at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET.
Before that, Behaviour is running a sale on the Chapter’s content across all platforms starting Monday, October 26. The company frames it as a last chance to unlock the character and his cosmetics. That gives you roughly four weeks of discounted access before the door closes.
If you already have him, relax. Behaviour’s post states that anything unlocked before November 24 remains usable in-game. A claim circulating on X that owners would lose access is wrong, as is a single X post from @dvveet giving the sale start as October 24.
Bloody Disgusting, reporting Behaviour’s announcement, explains what happens to Chucky’s perks. Players who unlocked him before the cutoff keep the perks in his Bloodweb with their original names and flavour text. Everyone else gets them in the General perk pool, unlockable on any other Killer right away. So the perks survive even if the doll doesn’t.
What is rumored
The most widely repeated claim is that this is a license loss. That framing comes from headlines at DualShockers, TheGamer and Men’s Journal. Behaviour’s announcement gives no reason, and GameSpot notes the company did not explain the delisting. GameSpot assumes the rights are expiring but says it is unknown whether that follows the original deal or a later change. Expiring rights would fit the Pinhead and Stranger Things precedents, but treat the cause as unconfirmed.
Before the announcement, unnamed DbD content creators, as relayed by TheGamer, said the game was about to lose the Chucky license. The departure turned out to be real. The license part remains unproven, and the creators are not named in the report.
Around October 20, dataminers at the community leak site LeaksByDaylight found Chucky’s perks listed as generic perks in a recent build and noted his chapter was missing from a chapter sale. The site itself cautioned that this confirmed nothing. The perk change has since matched Behaviour’s official plan.
A single X post from @dvveet, an unknown account, claims Chucky’s achievement will be removed. Neither the official post nor the Bloody Disgusting or GameSpot coverage mentions this, so file it as unverified.
Finally, a DualShockers writer speculated that the removal could precede a new Child’s Play video game, as with Michael Myers and Pinhead. That is openly a personal guess, and no rights holder has announced anything.
What we don’t know yet

We don’t know why Chucky is leaving. Behaviour hasn’t said, and historically it doesn’t explain departures. We also don’t know whether the achievement is affected, or whether he could ever come back.
What it means
For players on the fence, the math is simple: buy during the sale window from October 26, or before 8 AM PT on November 24 at the latest. After that, ownership is what counts.
On a possible return, history gives a sliver of hope but no promise. Behaviour announced the Stranger Things chapter’s removal on August 16, 2021, saying Netflix had declined to renew the contract, pulled it on November 17, 2021, and reinstated it in full in November 2023. Hellraiser went the other way: Behaviour announced its removal in March 2025, Pinhead stayed in the in-game store until April 4, 2025, and Behaviour’s blog post only said that, as a live service game, Dead by Daylight is always open to unexpected changes and frequent updates. Bloody Disgusting compares the Chucky handling to both cases, where owned content stayed usable.
So Chucky follows a familiar pattern. Whether he gets the Hawkins comeback or the Cenobite farewell is anyone’s guess, and nobody official is guessing yet.
