| Atari 800 Version Review The Atari800 was an 8bit computer released my the brand responsible of Pong and considered the father of the videogames. I dunno if the computer came before of after the more famous Atari2600 console , all that I know is that GB has been adopted to this system too. To my surprise when I launched the game the main screen appear as the one on C64, I did not even made a separate screen shot. The GFX are almost the same but the Atari800 has a lower resolution with bigger pixels and more colorful graphics. I was surprised to see that the different Background , although been the same at the basis, presented various colors schemes. One little tidbit , this is the only version I remember that displayed the entire "Ghostbusters" Word on GBHQ , instead of dropping the S al many version do. Returning to low resolution , this is mostly visible when traveling on NYC streets and a ghost fly over the ECTO-1 ' as shown above) , the spook has gross edges. Look at the Status bar , as you can see from the shot, is orange and not blue , this is fairly original and nice to watch . Animation is 3 frame based as always , so not much to say here, except that when you catch a ghost with the Vacuum Cleaner you actually see the ghost entering the Cleaner instead of just disappearing after a few seconds. Nice addition. Sound is a sequence of modulated beeps and sometimes a little high in volume , however there are digitized voices ( Ghostbusters! & hahah) , sound a little scratchy. Controls are as the C64 version. The gameplay is good and pleasant , very similar to the C64 and better than than ZX , is a pleasure to play , although sometime the rough GFX make you think, hopefully this is not a prob if you play in a Window. This game is good , a nice conversion.
